Adding Graphics in a Document
* Chapter 2. Working with Images
* List any three methods of inserting images in a text document.
* Three methods for inserting images are: Drag and Drop, Copy and Paste, and inserting an image by linking.
* What is the purpose of inserting an image by linking?
* Inserting an image by linking is beneficial when multiple copies of the same image are needed, as it stores only the reference to the image instead of the image itself. This reduces the document size because the actual image is saved only once as a separate file.
* Explain any five graphic filters.
* Five graphic filters are:
* Invert: Changes color in color images and brightness in grayscale images.
* Solarization: Increases the effects of excessive light in a photograph.
* Posterize: Reduces the number of colors in a picture to make it appear like a painting.
* Charcoal: Displays the image as a charcoal sketch.
* Mosaic: Combines groupings of pixels into a single-color area.
* What do you mean by resizing an image in LibreOffice Writer?
* Resizing is the process of reducing or enlarging the size of an image, often done by dragging the image’s sizing handles.
* Explain Image Cropping
* Image cropping is the process of removing unwanted parts of an image by selecting and keeping a specific portion while discarding the rest.
* Parameters on the Crop page include Keep scale (cropping doesn't affect image scale) and Keep image size (cropping enlarges, shrinks, or distorts the image while maintaining its size).
* What is grouping objects in LibreOffice Writer?
* Grouping objects allows different shapes to behave as a single entity without affecting their individual size and position. Changes applied to one member of a group affect all members.
* What is arrangement in LibreOffice Writer?
* Arrangement determines the position of a drawing relative to other drawings or text when objects overlap, including options like Bring to Front, Send to Back, Forward One, and Back One.
* What is anchoring in LibreOffice Writer?
* Anchoring helps attach or link an object to a specific position in the document, acting as a reference point. An image can retain its position relative to a page, paragraph, character, or frame.
* What is alignment in LibreOffice Writer?
* Alignment allows vertical or horizontal placement of an image relative to its anchor, with six different styles (three horizontal and three vertical).
* What is text wrapping in LibreOffice Writer?
* Text wrapping allows the placement of an image in relation to text. Tools are available under the Drawing Object Properties Toolbar, with options such as Wrap Off, Page Wrap, Optimal Page Wrap, Wrap Left, Wrap Right, and Wrap Through.
